Aldi cuts more prices to ease cost of living pressures

Aldi, the UK’s cheapest supermarket, has lowered prices on more everyday items to help ease the burden on households struggling with the cost of living.

 Included in the price drop are cereal, fruit, and snacks, with produce falling by around 7% on average.

 The price drop follows yesterday’s BBC Good Food Nation survey that revealed people were eating less nutritious food because they feel it’s now too expensive to buy fresh, with 19% of people spoken to saying they’re eating more ready meals and processed foods because its cheaper.

 The survey went on to show that 16% felt the cost of living had affected their healthy eating habits in some way, including being more health conscious because they can’t afford to get sick (18%) and eating less healthily due to stress (15%).
