Aldi to slash the price of 180 products for Christmas

Aldi, the UK’s cheapest supermarket, has announced it’s lowering the price on 180 products to help families with the cost of Christmas this year.

The move, which is costing Aldi £12 million, will see prices lowered by 20% on average across a huge range of Christmas products including chocolate and prosecco, as well as many of its frozen party range.

Aldi has lowered the price of almost 300 products in the past few months. Its latest move followed the supermarket’s announcement of a ‘Christmas Price Lock’ which sees the price of key food staples such as whole turkey crowns, pigs in blankets, Christmas puddings and festive vegetables remain the same price they were in 2022.

Julie Ashfield, managing director or buying at Aldi UK, said: “This latest investment is part of our continued efforts to make great quality food affordable for all, from party food treats to iconic Christmas essentials.

“We want everyone to be able to enjoy the festive season, so we’re doing all we can to keep our prices low this Christmas – just as we always do!”

Some of the products have already been reduced, they include:

  • Celebrations 600g was £4.49 now £3.99
  • Quality Street 600g was £4.49 now £3.99
  • Gingerbread Mulled Wine was £2.89 now £2.49
  • Specially Selected Winter Chutneys was £1.29 now 99p
  • Specially Selected Stuffing was £1.49 now £1.39
  • Specially Selected Gravy was £1.49 now £1.39
  • Brussel Sprouts Stalk was £1.19 now £1.09
  • Costellore Prosecco Magnum 150cl was £13.99 now £9.99
  • Character Chocolate Slap was 99p now 79p
  • Emporium Cheese Selection 450g was £5.49 now £3.99
  • Budweiser 20x330ml was £15.49 now £10.99
