Parents’ child benefit not paid because of bank’s payment issues
Households who bank with TSB have been experiencing difficulties with crucial payments not being reaching their accounts.
This morning (24 September), many of the bank’s customers posted on social media that they hadn’t received their child benefit, while others reported missing their salaries.
In response, TSB issued an apology and stated that they are actively working on a solution to ensure payments reach customers as soon as possible.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), TSB said they were “sorry for this”, adding that they would provide updates when they can.
On X, a woman named Nicola informed HMRC customer service that she had not received her payment.
Customers experiencing problems are being encouraged to reach out to the bank. A spokesperson also reassured that those who have gone overdrawn wouldn’t incur any charges.
This delay follows a similar situation in June, where half a million individuals did not receive their child benefit payment due to a technical problem at HMRC.
