Where to buy Christmas dinner for 6 for under £12

The festive season can really drain your wallet, especially when it comes to food and drink.

Costs have soared by 6.5% from last year, so it’s no wonder many of us feel the pinch around Christmas.

Turkey with all the trimmings, mince pies, a cheeky bottle of Baileys and several handfuls of chocolates (or wrappers, if someone else has given in to the call from the Celebrations tub before you) can quickly add up.

But Aldi is here to help. This year, the budget supermarket is offering a full Christmas dinner for less than £2 per person from 19 December to Christmas Eve.

What's on the menu?

Here's what you can expect to find in this festive feast:

  • small fresh British turkey (£8.85, 2.95 per kg)
  • Nature’s Pick potatoes (15p, 2kg)
  • Nature’s Pick Brussels sprouts (15p, 500g)
  • Nature’s Pick carrots (15p, 1kg)
  • Nature’s Pick parsnips (15p, 500g)
  • Quixo sage & onion stuffing mix (45p, 170g)
  • Quixo gravy granules (£1.09, 300g)
  • Everyday Essentials Yorkshire puddings (46p, 15 pack)

The entire feast costs just £11.45 and serves a family of six, which is only £1.91 each.

It's a great option for anyone wanting to enjoy a traditional roast without breaking the bank.

Stock may vary between stores, so a bit of early shopping could be wise.

Extra savings

No Aldi near you? Don’t worry – Sainsbury’s is also slashing veg prices to 15p if you have a Nectar card.

We’ve also worked out how much a Christmas feast will set you back across most supermarkets and put together some extra ways to avoid spending more than you need to.
