How to save big on cinema tickets this February half term
February half-term is here and while the kids are bouncing off the walls, you might be dreading the cost of keeping them entertained. But fear not! Here’s the inside scoop on how to bag cheap cinema tickets so you can enjoy blockbuster fun without blowing your budget.

1. Special half-term offers
Enjoy a couple of hours peace for less with special half term cinema offers. At Odeon adults pay children’s prices (tickets from £2.75) every day during the school holidays. While Cineworld and Vue are both offering screenings for juniors every day at 10am for £2.50 and £2.49 respectively.
2. Early bird & off peak screenings
Want to watch the latest release for less? Head to morning or early afternoon screenings. Many cinemas offer off-peak pricing, and some even have special ‘Kids Club’ sessions where tickets can be as low as £2.50. Check out your local listings and set that alarm – the savings are worth it.
3. 2-FOR-1 cinema deals (thank you, Meerkats!)
If you’ve bought an insurance policy from MoneySuperMarket.com and not checked out their benefits scheme, you’re missing out. For as little as £1, you can get 2-for-1 cinema tickets every Tuesday and Wednesday for an entire year.
4. Supermarket & rewards schemes
Got a Tesco Clubcard? Those hard-earned points can be swapped for cinema vouchers, meaning you could be watching the latest blockbuster without spending a single penny. Some banks and rewards programs (like Nectar, O2 Priority, Vitality and Sky VIP) also offer discounted or free tickets, so dig into those loyalty perks.
5. Discounts for carers
If you care for someone, you could be entitled to discounts on trips out like the cinema. Check out Discounts for Carers to get up to 40% off at Vue, Odeon and Cineworld. Or apply for a CEA card from the UK Cinema Association (UKCA). The scheme allows the cardholder to take someone for free to help them every time they go to the movies.
6. Family and group tickets
Lots of cinema chains offer family deals where adults pay child prices, or groups can snag a discount. If you’re planning to take the whole family, make sure you ask about these money-saving bundles.
7. Student and blue light discounts
If you’re a student or have a Blue Light Card (for NHS, emergency services, armed forces and teachers), you might be eligible for discounted tickets. Flash that ID when booking and enjoy the savings.
8. Check daily deal sites
Websites like Groupon and Wowcher often run special offers for cinema tickets, so before you book, have a quick scroll – you might just land a steal.
