Ryanair launches ‘prime’ subscription service: everything you need to know
Budget airline Ryanair has rolled out an annual subscription called ‘Prime’, designed for frequent flyers.
Published: 25 March 2025
Here’s what you need to know.
What’s the Ryanair subscription service?
Ryanair Prime is a discount scheme for regular Ryanair flyers. Members can make savings on flights, travel insurance and get perks on seats and more.
How much does Ryanair Prime cost?
The subscription costs £79 for 12 months.
Members have:
-
access to free travel insurance
-
free seat reservation
-
12 exclusive seat sales – one per month
-
regular emails about exclusive sales and offers
-
the chance to book an unlimited number of flights with discounted Prime fares
The airline estimates that members who fly 12 times per year will save up to £420.
But you don’t need to be a mega-flyer to save some cash, as Ryanair says people who book three flights per year could make a saving of around £105.
How to sign up
You can join Prime on the Ryanair website.
You must be over 18 and live in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK.
But the subscription is limited to 250,000 people on a first-come, first-served basis, so, if you’re interested, it’s probably worth not delaying.
Are other airlines offering similar services?
In 2024, Wizz Air launched an ‘unlimited flight’ subscription service for €599.
But the service comes with a couple of catches.
-
The first flight you book as a Wizz Air member is free, subsequent flights will incur a €9.99 booking fee.
-
Seat allocation and luggage allowance are not included.
-
Flights can only be booked up to 72 hours before departure, meaning you’re essentially booking standby flights.
-
Memberships are limited by airport, further restricting availability.
As with all subscriptions, it’s important to read the small print. But for frequent flyers, Ryanair’s Prime could be a valuable way to save money while enjoying additional benefits.
