Waitrose brings back free coffee offer
Going round the supermarket can be a chore at the best of times.
And it’s not helped when you notice how much more expensive everything is than it was last week.
But Waitrose has brought back a perk that should make the weekly shop a little better – a free cup of coffee.
From 27 January, loyalty scheme members can get one complimentary hot drink per day – even if they don’t actually buy anything in-store.
All you need to do is bring a reusable cup with you, and a lovely hot coffee is all yours.
Flexibility for shoppers
A Waitrose spokesperson said: “Some of our members like to have their free coffee before or during their shop, rather than afterwards, so we are just offering a bit of flexibility in response to customer feedback.”
The free coffee offer was originally introduced in 2013, but later limited only to people who bought something in-store before being axed during the pandemic.
It was then reintroduced for loyalty scheme members who made a purchase, and two years ago, Waitrose started offering free coffees to police officers who visited its stores.
